McFaulds No.8: Noront’s Newest Exploration Discovery

We recently completed our first drill program on the McFaulds property we acquired from Cliffs in 2015. It had previously been explored by others between 2002 and 2011. Ministers Visit to Esker Camp

In early October, Marten Falls, Webequie and Noront co-hosted a site visit to Esker Camp for MPPs who represent key portfolios related to mining and indigenous relations: Minster Michael Gravelle, Minister David Zimmer and Minister Bill Mauro. They are employed by both their band office and the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM). Searching for a Smelter Site

By Alan Coutts, President and CEO Chrome ore is one of the minerals that Noront plans to mine in the Ring of Fire. But removing it from the ground is just the beginning. After that, it must be transformed into ferrochrome, which along with nickel is used to make stainless steel for products we are all familiar with like cutlery, medical instruments and appliances. We are planning to develop a processing plant that will turn the ore we mine into ferrochrome. Continue Reading
